The Monsters Guide to A Safe and Happy Halloween

This book is dedicated to the memory of my friend, Thad Smith. 

-In 1989, while we were in the ninth grade, I decided to host a Halloween party at my house. I loved decorating for Halloween, and that year I blacked out the windows and had the idea to have Thad create monsters on each of the windows in our home. Thankfully, I had very understanding parents. Thad came over and drew monsters in chalk across the darkened windows. As he created each one, I made up silly stories about the characters, giving them personalities, and little histories of their own. Somewhere along the way, we decided to write these stories down.
